Dr. Victor Bustos, DMD

Dr. Victor Bustos, DMD

Dr. Bustos was born in Colombia and moved to Florida at the age of four. He fell in love with dentistry at an early age thanks mostly in part to his childhood dentist. Dr. Bustos graduated from Florida international University with an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology and then continued on to obtain his DMD from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He strives to always stay current on the newest techniques and continuously attends dental continuing education courses and workshops to further his knowledge and hone his skills. Dr Bustos’ greatest satisfaction comes from helping patients achieve their dental goals. “Helping people get out of pain, or giving them the smile that they’ve always wanted is truly my passion.”
 
When he’s not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Bustos enjoys spending time outdoors and living an active lifestyle with his friends and family. An avid foodie, you can find him at many of the local restaurants as well as the Bradenton and Sarasota farmers markets.
 
Dr. Bustos is bilingual in English and Spanish, so yes “¡Se Habla Español!”

Dr. Tyler Blackenburg, DMD

Dr. Tyler M. Blackenburg, DMD was raised in Alabama and has lived in Florida since 2002. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. Subsequently, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Upon completing his dental degree, Dr. Blackenburg completed a 3 year residency in Periodontology at Nova Southeastern University where he received a certificate in Periodontology. The residency included extensive training on management of gum disease, treatment of gum recession, dental implants and bone grafting.

Dr. Blackenburg is a board certified Periodontist (Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology). He has devoted his professional career to all aspects of periodontology with special interests in the treatment/management of dental implants, bone reconstruction, gum disease, and delivery of comfortable high quality dentistry. He is able to work hand in hand with restorative specialists and they are able to save teeth which would once be removed. To keep abreast of the latest developments in periodontology, Dr. Blackenburg has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of the State of Florida requirements.

Dr. Blackenburg’s interests include both salt and freshwater fishing, beekeeping, gardening, college football, and spending time with family and friends. One of the most cherished times of the year will be the annual week long family beach trip in the panhandle of Florida. It has been a 30+ year tradition and this year he expects 28 family members to be present.

Catherine Calix
Practice Administrator

Catherine was born in Peru and moved to Maryland at the age of twenty-one. She attended ACT College, where she focused her studies on Medical Office Administration. She continued her education at Liberty University and majored in Psychology and Counseling. She has over eighteen years’ experience in the dental field and has a desire to encourage and mentor her employers to reach their full potential. As the Practice Administrator, Catherine takes pride in maintaining and creating innovating ways to make the patients’ experience an unforgettable one.

In 2015, Catherine and her husband visited and fell in love with Florida. They immediately relocated to the Bradenton-Sarasota area and have been living the best life ever since with their two Maltese fur babies, Charlie and Sergio.

Katelyn Chambers
Dental Hygienist

Katelyn is a Florida native. She earned her dental hygiene degree at State College of Florida in 2016 and is certified in administering local anesthesia. From a young age, she was fascinated with the dental profession stemming from years in braces and dental visits. She strives to provide a gentle but thorough approach to caring for patients. Her favorite motto is “knowledge is power” believing that educating patients on how to keep their teeth and gums healthy is invaluable.

Katelyn enjoys being outdoors, reading mysteries, and photography. She loves traveling out west for hiking and camping in the mountains. Fun Fact: Katelyn loves motorcycle drag racing and skydiving!

Diana Correa
Dental Hygienist

Diana was born in Colombia and moved to Florida at the age of eighteen. She earned her dental hygiene degree at State College of Florida in 2006 and is certified in administering local anesthesia.

Since then, Diana has been very passionate about her career, treating all her patients as family. Diana strives to make sure her patients have a positive dental experience, and she is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Diana is married and has two beautiful daughters Natalia and Isabella. On her free time, she enjoys exercising, bike riding and a variety of outside activities.

Yudbel Sullivan
Dental Hygienist

Yudbel is from Venezuela, she came to live in the Sarasota/Bradenton area about 21 years ago. She loves it here in the “Sunshine State”,  since the weather, so closely resembles her hometown.

Yudbels’ dental experience comes from her previous 5 years as a Dental Assistant, she then decided to further her education at the State College of Florida, studying Dental Hygiene, she started her Dental Hygiene career in 2011.

She is also certified to Administer Local Anesthetic. Yudbel is truly passionate about dentistry, she LOVES educating her patients on how to improve their oral hygiene. Yudbel thrives on providing each one of her patients her undivided attention, active listening to the patients’ needs and concerns.

In her free time, Yudbel loves to remain active with her son Dominic and her puppy named Cookie. She also enjoys outdoors activities, and she is very enthusiastic about keeping up with the most current and up to date Dental continuing education courses and participating in Community Services.
