Dr. Tyler M. Blackenburg, DMD was raised in Alabama and has lived in Florida since 2002. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. Subsequently, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Upon completing his dental degree, Dr. Blackenburg completed a 3 year residency in Periodontology at Nova Southeastern University where he received a certificate in Periodontology. The residency included extensive training on management of gum disease, treatment of gum recession, dental implants and bone grafting.
Dr. Blackenburg is a board certified Periodontist (Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology). He has devoted his professional career to all aspects of periodontology with special interests in the treatment/management of dental implants, bone reconstruction, gum disease, and delivery of comfortable high quality dentistry. He is able to work hand in hand with restorative specialists and they are able to save teeth which would once be removed. To keep abreast of the latest developments in periodontology, Dr. Blackenburg has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of the State of Florida requirements.
Dr. Blackenburg’s interests include both salt and freshwater fishing, beekeeping, gardening, college football, and spending time with family and friends. One of the most cherished times of the year will be the annual week long family beach trip in the panhandle of Florida. It has been a 30+ year tradition and this year he expects 28 family members to be present.

Katelyn Chambers
Dental Hygienist
Katelyn is a Florida native. She earned her dental hygiene degree at State College of Florida in 2016 and is certified in administering local anesthesia. From a young age, she was fascinated with the dental profession stemming from years in braces and dental visits. She strives to provide a gentle but thorough approach to caring for patients. Her favorite motto is “knowledge is power” believing that educating patients on how to keep their teeth and gums healthy is invaluable.
Katelyn lives in Sarasota with her husband and their dog, a chihuahua named Rocky. She enjoys being outdoors, reading mysteries, and photography. She loves traveling out west for hiking and camping in the mountains. Fun fact: Katelyn and her husband eloped and got married on top of the Rocky Mountains!
